White iPhone
White iPhone demands have always been high, but facing what often seemed like endless delays - customers have all but given up hope of owning a new, white iPhone 4 model.
Over the past weekend, Apple has reportedly begun preparing for the release of the much-anticipated white iPhone 4. The mobile device is expected to be in stores shortly.
The introduction of the device has been delayed by almost a year, but it is expected to launch for both Verizon and AT&T subscribers "within the next week," according to Apple Insider.
Several stores are said to have received shipment notifications for the various white iPhone 4 SKUs and have been instructed to hold those shipments in the back until further notice, Apple Insider suggests.
All indications point to an official announcement by Wednesday, April 27th.
The arrival of white models is expected to increase iPhone sales during a time of year when customers have historically held off purchasing new iPhones under the expectation of next-generation models making their debut during the summer.
Apple has allegedly decided to hold off on introducing the so-called fifth-generation models until this fall, in hopes for more sales during the holiday shopping season. According to an Apple Insider source, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, these new models will go into production in September and sport a unified Qualcomm baseband capable of serving both GSM and CDMA networks.
Those who are interested in snagging the phone on launch day may want to consider arriving early. According to Digital Trends, each Best Buy location will only have about 10 16GB models in stock initially. There's no word on the number of 32GB expected to be on hand at Best Buy, but they're expected to be in short supply.
